[ubuntu] Dell Printer hook up

I have a Dell laptop 1420 with a dell printer 948...I am having trouble installing the printers drivers, and when I get the installation info from the dell drivers website, its not for linux. Do i need another printer with linux capabilities?

You will need linux drivers which many printer manufacturers do not provide. In all liklihood the printer drivers on Dell's site are for Windows. Go here:
